Work Experience Services and Support
Employers can access new employees by participating in the Work Experience Component supported by the Maple Ridge WorkBC Centre. Staff work with employers to understand their needs and then identify suitable candidates and prepare them for success in the work experience.
Work Experience placements provide mutual benefits. Clients gain experience and the opportunity for long term employment. Employers profit from WorkBC Employment Services Assistance with:
- Recruiting and screening
- Development of training plans
- Ongoing monitoring and support
- Funding to offset costs of onboarding (Wage Subsidy)
- Funding to cover the costs of additional training that may be required
Employers may also wish to benefit from innovative projects offered through WorkBC designed to meet employer and job seeker’s needs. Projects are developed collaboratively with WorkBC in response to labour market needs where skill requirements are identified and training is provided to increase the labour pool to meet market demands.
