Information Session for Self-Employment
This Info Session will cover the complexities of entrepreneurship, by looking at advantages and disadvantages of being self-employed, traits and skills of a successful entrepreneurs and best practices, as well as how to avoid pitfalls when exploring opening your own business. Additionally, the session will provide an introduction to the Douglas College Self Employment Program, reviewing eligibility and qualifications requirements, as well as program stages and development. The participants will leave with a deeper understanding of how one can become self-employed, what does it entail and how they can start expanding their business concept before they explore the Self Employment Program eligibility with their WorkBC Career Coach.
All participants will be provided a Program flowchart, a market research handout and a few more resources aimed at helping the thought process around a business concept development.
