Pitt Meadows launches surveys to improve outdated Agricultural Plan

June 5, 2023

The agricultural industry has changed a lot in the past two decades, which is why the City of Pitt Meadows is now looking to modernize its Agricultural Plan for the first time since 2000.

Mayor Nicole MacDonald explained that updating the plan is essential for a community like Pitt Meadows, which has a large rural base.

“With approximately 78 per cent of the city’s total land area in the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR), council recognizes the vital role that agriculture plays in our local economy, history, and food security,” said MacDonald.
