Client Finds New Career Pathway

April 3, 2021

Anthony came to WorkBC Maple Ridge with 40 years of work experience as a Tech Manager in a maintenance department. He was interested in obtaining some short-term training to gain skills to get into warehousing, production or construction.

Anthony attended career planning workshops and his WorkBC Career Coach worked closely with him to complete assessments to determine his strengths, barriers, and challenges in reconnecting to employment. Anthony also attended job search workshops and got assistance developing his resume and learning about how to effectively job search in the current the labor market.

As a mature worker, Anthony had come to the Centre seeking only part-time work. However, he was offered a full-time job he couldn’t refuse! Anthony now works full-time as a Traffic Tool Room Attendant at BCIT.

Some words from Anthony: “I am thankful that WorkBC sponsored the Forklift Safety Training course for me, and for the help I have received from you and your team over my time being a WorkBC client in finding my footing and new career pathway.”
